On july 27, 1966 and sellout crowd at the Honolulu international center Arena watched a pro wrestling card present by Ed Francis that featured two of the world's largest wrestlers Haystacks Calhoun and Gorilla Monsoon face each other in a 6 man tag team match. In the opening match Neff Miava pinned Beauregarde with a head butt and a press. In other matches Sam Steamboat drew with Wild Bill Dromo. Nick Bockwinkel defeated Butch Hoffman with an Abdominal Stretch submission hold. In a tag team match Billy White Wolf and Red Eagle defeated Tosh Togo and kongozan in a one fall match. 6-Man Tag Team Match The main event was a six man tag team match with Haystack Halhoun standing 6 feet 3 weithe 601 punds teaming with world tag team champions Ray Stevens and Pat Patterson face the team of Gorilla Monsoon standing 6 feet 7 inches , 387 pounds teaming with the current Hawaiian tag team champions Johnny Barend and ripper collins in a 2 out of three fall match. Haystacks Calhoun sits on the ropes while Jim Lathrop announces the match. Frank Merrill, one of two referees in this match, goes over the rules. |
