Hawaii's Largest Wedding

Before the main event match between champions Handsome Johnny Barend & Jim Hady and challengers Curtis Iaukea & Dutch Schultz, Johnny was married to Miss Anita Lum in the middle of the ring. Jim Hady, Johnny's tag team partner, was the Best Man. The wedding cake was provided by popular local bakery Leonard's Bakery and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Samuel Keala in both Hawaiian and English.

The wedding took place on KGMB television with 9000 fans in attendance at the Honolulu International Center arena. When it came time for his vow, Handsome John grasped the microphone firmly and spoke his "I do!" Soon after, Johnny picked up his bride and carried her around the ring, to the cheering of his fans. Promoter Ed Francis leaped into the ring to congratulate the Handsome One and to kiss the bride.
