Grand Parade of Champions- 6-Man Tag Team Battle

On September 20, 1966, promoter Ed Francis presented a huge card including 4 main events topped by a 6-Man Tag Team Battle at the Honolulu International Center Arena.

The 6-Man Tag Team match pitted Handsome Johnny Barend, Ripper Collins, & Gorilla Monsoon against Wold Tag Team Champions Ray Stevens & Pat Patterson, along with Chief Billy White Wolf. Nick Bockwinkle was the guest referee for this match. Other main events included a women's US Title match, featuring champion Kathy Starr defending her title against challenger Jeannie O'Brien. The popular Bobo Brazil battled Wild Bill Dromo n another main event. Also, Hard Boiled Haggerty, the master of the Claw Hold, will tangled with The Mongolian Stomper.

Unfortunately, we were not able to find any photos of the 6-Man Tag Team battle and a few other matches. We'll post the photos if we're able to locate them in the future.

Karl Gotch vs Kongozan

The opening match between German, Karl Gotch and local villain Kongozan ended in a draw.

Bobo Brazil vs Wild Bill Dromo

In the next match, the 6ft 6in 300 lb. Bobo Brazil defeated Wild Bill Dromo for a successful second appearance in Hawaii.

Kathy Starr vs Jeanie O'Brien

The next main event was a women's United States Championship match with champion Kathy Starr battling challenger Jeanie O'Brien. Miss Starr successfully defended her title by taking 2 out of 3 falls to win the match.

Hard Boiled Haggerty vs The Mongolian Stomper

Hard Boiled Haggerty (aka Don Stansauk) and the Stomper (aka Archie Gouldie, originally from Canada) battled to a draw, as time ran out after each wrestler had won a fall. Haggerty would later go on to become a character actor in movies and TV, appearing in films such as "Paint Your Wagon" and "The Muppet Movie."

The Stomper, would later become a sheriff in Tennessee after his wrestling career ended.

Haggerty was a former professional football player with the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.

The crowd shrieks as Haggerty displays his infamous "Claw Hold."

6-Man Tag Team Match

The team of Ray Stevens, Pat Patterson, and Chief Billy White Wolf won over Handsome Johnny Barend, Ripper Collins, and Gorilla Monsoon.

Chief Billy White Wolf and Ripper Collins traded falls to give each team a fall. Subsequently, Ray Stevens and Pat Patterson were able to assist their teammate Chief Billy White Wolf in applying the Indian Death Lock on Gorilla Monsoon, while holding off Monsoon's teammates to win the match.
