Competing Promotions
Beginning in July of 1964 and continuing for the next 6 months, Ed Francis and Dallas Western, both professional wrestling promotions, went head to head with competing wrestling cards, sometimes on the same date. Ed Francis booked the old Civic Auditorium and Dallas Western used the new Honolulu International Center; later to be renamed the "Blaisdell Center" after former Honolulu mayor Neal Blaisdell.
